Over the years we have built an excellent working relationship with our clients. Our relationship is always based on trust and it is our aim to provide expert advice and craftsmanship to the numerous fields of decorative work. There are however many different problems that can arise on the road to a well decorated property. We have listed some of these problems below in an attempt to answer any questions you may have before a problem arises. These are by no means carved in stone, but do represent our present policy concerning these issues.

When work is being carried out on older properties, various extras may be incurred to the original quotation. It must be stressed that it is never our intention to incur hidden extras. Clients continually commend us on our crystal clear quoting procedure without hidden extras. However sometimes extras are unavoidable. The following list will hopefully qualify ways that a quote will incur an extra cost.

During preparation of external joinery and masonry, rotten, or frail areas may be uncovered. Most of the repairs will be included in the quote, however, it is left to the discretion of the staff member as to weather an extra charge will be necessary. Some repairs may need to be carried out by a separate contractor. These arrangements can either be made my the client or by Noah’s Ark.

During preparation and the stripping of wallpaper, sometimes plaster will be too frail to hold to the wall/ ceiling. Loose areas such as these will need to be removed and re-plastered at an extra cost. ‘Fill all holes and cracks as required’, does not include re-plastering. Some repairs may need to be carried out by a separate contractor. These arrangements can either be made by the client or by Noah’s Ark.

Every effort is made by staff to assist in a colour choice, suitable to the client’s taste. With the multiple of colours and the diversity of clients this task is not an easy one. However whilst we can offer advice, we cannot guarantee satisfaction with colour choice. Whilst we are happy to provide sample boards for broken paint finishes, and advice on flat colour finishes, the final choice must always be left to the client. If the client is dissatisfied with the choice of colour, and the room requires re-decoration, then an extra charge will be incurred.

The duration of a job will vary from one to another. Verbal times can be given upon request, however these are only estimates as to the length of time a job may take. However some jobs have been known to extend beyond the estimated period. Reasons could be poor weather on external work, illness, compassionate leave etc. Please note that Noah’s Ark are not liable to reductions from the bill for a job taking longer than agreed.

We are always happy to do extra work over what has originally been quoted. Many times the extra work can be executed whilst the main bulk of the work is underway. Prices may be given verbally or in writing, however all extras will be charged at the standard rate weather prices have been given r not.

The moving around of furniture in order to decorate a room is included in all prices. However we do ask that small items (books, CDs, ornaments etc.) are cleared away prior to the commencement of work.

Please also be aware that every staff member has agreed to work under a high code of ethics. One of these standards is to never work directly for any client of Noah’s Ark. We trust that all clients will respect this and not approach any staff member in order to compromise on their own personal standards and commitment to Noah’s Ark.
